1. When did you join CrossFit BC?
I joined in December 2021.

2. Why did you choose CrossFit?
Back home I was part of a group which trained for obstacle races. We used to run them just for fun. Some elements of crossfit were part of our training so when I decided last year that I would like to start some training sessions again it was an easy decision, I already knew that I would like it.

3. What changes in your health, physique and overall performance have you seen since starting CrossFit?
I would say that I am not tired throughout the day as I used to be, better mood in those days when I am working out, hiking is easier, upper body strength + my back pain is gone. Improvements in muscle strength for sure.

4. What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting CrossFit?
Just give it a try. For me, personally, I think that technique is always more important than the heavy weights. Don´t worry what others around you are lifting you will get there but it takes time. Also, consistency is the key.

5. What is your favourite CrossFit exercise?
I like rowing and practising toes to bar, so sad I am not able to do them, but even trying is fun.

6. What is your favourite activity outside of CrossFit?
I really enjoy hiking / camping, so whenever I have a day off during the weekend I am trying to get out of the city. Last year I fell in love with snowboarding that cannot wait for winter.

7. What is your proudest accomplishment at CrossFit?
That is easy – just keep showing up. I postponed the decision about joining some gym for so long that I am just happy that I already started. Also I like seeing that my upper body strength is slowly getting back.

8. Have you made any changes to your diet?
Not at all, to be honest. But maybe soon I‘ll start to incorporate some small changes.

9. Is there something that people would be surprised to know about you?
I love sarcasm and my accent is not from Russia.

10. What/who inspires you the most?
I would say community all around. I admire everyone who is able to invest some time and work in themselves, who decided to stay active and push their limits.
