1. When did you join CrossFit BC?
April 2021
2. Why did you choose CrossFit?
The gym is close to my office and was big, clean, and offered a lot of class times.
3. What changes in your health, physique and overall performance have you seen since starting CrossFit?
Other than getting super ripped, upping my Instagram game to secure endless hot dates, and being able to handstand walk for days??
That’s pretty good, but when the gym closed in January, I realized how important intense physical exercise is to my mental and emotional health.  CrossFit and the consistent camaraderie helps me stay grounded.
4. What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting CrossFit?
Whenever possible, add an extra thrust or grunt – you’ll be surprised by your increase in strength.
Take your shirt off before the workout starts, who cares what anyone thinks?
If you’re competitive, give yourself some time before you start pushing your weight limits to avoid injury.
5. What is your favourite CrossFit exercise?
Snatch. I’m still not great at them, but I love how the movement requires putting so much together and the incremental improvement in technique is addicting.
6. What is your favourite activity outside of CrossFit?
Skiing without children.
7. What is your proudest accomplishment at CrossFit?
I’m probably most proud of the way I give it my all in every class.
8. Have you made any changes to your diet?
I’m an accomplished creative snacker, but I’ve found that when I don’t eat enough during the day and then work out hard, recovery takes a long time. So I’m trying to make sure I eat better and more consistently.
9. Is there something that people would be surprised to know about you?
In 1998, I was the first person in the state of Colorado to be treated for an active rabies virus in 37 years.
10. What/who inspires you the most?
My passion in life is to build meaningful things with people I love. I love working alongside people who care deeply about others and work hard and can have fun. It’s the people that keep pushing through adversity and trying hard that inspire me most days… AND Coach Chloe, of course.
