1. When did you join CrossFit BC?

2. Why did you choose CrossFit?

I’ve always admired the capabilities of what CrossFit athletes can do/endure with their bodies. The mental strength it must take to stay focused during their workouts/training. And I especially love how the female athletes are proud and unapologetic, on how strong and badass they look with all their gains! I wanted to stop wishing to be like them and challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone (aka the couch) and do something about it. 

3. What changes in your health, physique and overall performance have you seen since starting CrossFit?

I have more energy! I have a weird work schedule where I wake up to get ready at 2am. I would get home from work by 1pm- eat lunch and nap until dinner time. Since CrossFit, I’ve been more active and don’t nap anymore!

4. What advice would you give to someone with regards to starting CrossFit?

Just do it! Don’t let yourself be in the way of one the best decisions you’ll ever make! It’ll be intimidating at first, but the owners, coaches and the community at CrossFit BC makes you feel safe. They are so supportive & welcoming that you forget to be scared. 

5. What is your favourite CrossFit exercise?

Front and back squats! 

6. What is your favourite activity outside of CrossFit?

Does baking count? 

7. What is your proudest accomplishment at CrossFit?

This may sound silly, but what I’m most proud of is that I actually and physically get my body to the classes to workout 3-4x a week and not just *think* about doing it. 

8. Have you made any changes to your diet?

I started taking protein shakes after each workout and I am now meal prepping my breakfast for work. I had a bad habit of eating at fast-food joints

9. Is there something that people would be surprised to know about you?

I have a 16 year old son! 

10. What/who inspires you the most?

My family. Family is everything to me.
